i talk about music a lot, & have a tendency to post songs that are stuck in my head in the hope that they will get stuck in your head instead. you're welcome.
Hello, this is Iceland.
I am sorry to interupt your inter-nets but I want to tell you how to become a better human.
In the old days (well, it is the old days for you, but I am millions of years old, so for me it was like yesterday) my people were Vikings and they had a code to live by. (A Viking has got to have a code).
The code came from Óðinn the Alfather himself, supposedly, and was put forth in 164 poems or proverbs of sorts, that detailed how to become a better human. Here is an example:
Cattle die and kinsmen die,
thyself too soon must die,
but one thing never, I ween, will die, —
fair fame of one who has earned. If you would like to read 163 more and become a better human, you can find them here.
Bless bless.
is it weird that when i read the iceland tumblr i can TOTALLY HEAR ICELAND’S (completely authentic, i am sure) VOICE/ACCENT? i mean, most of you don’t have actual voices in my head* but iceland does.
*i have a really hard time “hearing” sounds other than my own inner monologue voice in my head. i didn’t realize this wasn’t normal until a class my last year of college where we were told to think about our favorite song and then our professor was all “the human brain is AMAZING! what you’re imagining sounds JUST LIKE THE RECORDING. ISN’T THAT AMAZING?” and then i was ostracized a bit for admitting that all i heard was my inner monologue voice going “do do do do DO DO oh baby” because it can’t even manage music and words at the same time.
