Tomorrow we remember the Battle of Hogwarts

Tomorrow is May 2nd, the day the battle of Hogwarts 14 years ago. The day that Harry, Ron and Hermione snuck back into Hogwarts and destroyed the Horcruxes. The day that Harry finally defeated Voldemort. We remember everyone who fought in the war and all those who died. Fred Weasley, Nymphadora Tonks, Remus Lupin, Colin Creevey, Severus Snape and more. nope! not only does she have the best wardrobe of any wizard we have ever seen, but in a lot of ways she’s a better school administrator than dumbles ever was! the only professors she sacks are the two professors who are (a) terrible teachers, and (b) often endangering their students. (snape should have also been fired, but unlike the other two idiots, he was probably smart enough to stop threatening to poison his students while being observed.)

there’s a lot of anger over “i must not tell lies” but i think it’s pretty clear from other passages in the books that physical and/or dangerous punishments are not out of line. they send a bunch of first years into the forbidden forest at night for detention, for christ’s sake. the wizarding world also doesn’t do justice like the muggle world- sirius black is sentenced to life in a prison that is DEFINITELY cruel and unusual without a trial.

i’m not an umbridge fan (except for the clothes) but i do think she needs to be judged by her place in that world, not just based on the opinion of a 15 year old who is used to adults bending the rules for him.
