i think this book strikes a nice balance, since even the backstory has a bit of action and then BAM, we are in the don salvara game. i’ve seen people complaining about the Typical Fantasy Capitalization and whatnot that comes with the set up, but none of that ever bothered me.
and i mean, when i opened the book the first time, i thought it was going to be about scotland so it really felt like i was thrown in the deep end anyway!
